Dear Jeff: Are there any regulations for the location of a junkyard? A neighbor keeps telling several of us that he is going to open a junkyard in our neighborhood, and I would prefer that it not happen. Signed, “Fred Sanford”

Dear “Fred”: A junkyard, an automotive wrecking yard or a salvage yard must be located at least 50 feet from the right of way of a residence, public street or state highway. The person who owns the yard may not stack or accumulate items higher than eight feet above ground level.
